Jin Shin DoŽ Bodymind AcupressureŽ uses gentle yet deep
finger pressure on specific acu-points together with
Body Focusing Techniques to help release armoring or
chronic tension, and balance the Qi or energy.
Developed by psychotherapist Iona Marsaa Teeguarden,
this bodymind approach is a unique synthesis of a
traditional Japanese acupressure technique, classic
Chinese acu-theory, Reichian segmental theory, Taoist
philosophy and Qigong (breathing exercise techniques).
Jin Shin DoŽ Bodymind AcupressureŽ promotes a pleasant
trancelike state, in which one can move out of the head
and into the body, assessing feeling and inner wisdom.
Jin Shin DoŽ means "The Way of the Compassionate
Spirit".
Jin Shin DoŽ Bodymind AcupressureŽ Case Study
When a 40 year-old woman came to my office, she
explained that she was seeing a medical physician for
heart palpitations. In the beginning of her treatment,
we met weekly, then bi-weekly and now monthly.
Throughout her sessions, she discovered many underlying
reasons that contributed to her heart palpitations.
Currently, she occasionally experiences sporadic
palpitations that used to occur daily. She continues to
seek medical advice to monitor her physical condition.
Recently she started her own walking group that includes
four other women. The purpose of the group is to promote
weight loss and stress reduction! Jin
Shin DoŽ Bodymind AcupressureŽ is not a substitute for
medical or psychological diagnosis. |
